We now have 4G in our phones, offered through the SIM cards provided by you. Yet, most of the time speed is barely what you will call 2G.

Hello hello, can you hear ?
Dear Airtel, this is how I start my conversation every time I pick up the phone. It doesn't matter where I am. Whether I am at work in my office in Filmcity, Noida, or at home, which also happens to be in Noida, the experience of using a phone is frustrating. It's always the same, and my first instinct when I take a call, or dial a number, is to check if the voice is going through or not.
This is often followed by a few more "hello hello hellos..." and almost half the time, either I disconnect the phone or the person at other end does because the network is so bad that it is impossible to talk. If the call is important, I dial up again. And again, and again... and sometimes I get lucky and can have a conversation.
I use a postpaid number I got from you, dear Airtel. But I know that it's not only your network that is bad. My friends tell me that it is similarly impossible to talk on Jio network, or Vodafone network, or MTNL or BSNL network. And my friends from other parts of the country, from other cities tell me, it is the same for them. The network quality of their cellular services has degraded so much in the last one year that it has become almost impossible to talk on phone.
