Airtel rolls out Rs 76 prepaid recharge plan but not everyone can use it

India's largest telecom operator Airtel has launched a new recharge plan at Rs 76 for its prepaid users but not everyone can use it. This is because it is a First Recharge (FRC) plan and is available only for users recharging on their Airtel network for the first time.
The newly launched Airtel Rs 76 prepaid recharge plan offers a talk time value of Rs 26 with all the voice calls charged at 60 paise a minute. This is accompanied by 100MB of 2G/3G/4G data for 28 days.
The other existing Airtel FRC plans are- Rs 178, Rs 229, Rs 344, Rs 495 and Rs 559. The Rs 178 FRC plan offers unlimited local, STD and roaming outgoing calls along with 100 SMS per day and 1GB of 3G/4G data for a validity period of 28 days.
Airtel users who opt for Rs 229 FRC plan get unlimited voice calling, incoming and outgoing calls on national roaming, 100 SMSs per day and 1.4GB data a day for 28 days.
The Airtel FRC 344 offers unlimited user voice calls with no FUP limit , 100 SMS per day and 2GB data 2G/3G/4G per day for 28 days.
Last but not the least, FRC 495 and FRC 559 prepaid plans offering benefits for 84 days and 90 days. Both the plans offer similar benefits of unlimited local, STD and national roaming outgoing calls, 100 SMS per day and 1.4GB data benefit per day.
Meanwhile Airtel has also launched a Rs 169 plan to compete against Vodafone and Jio. The Airtel Rs 169 plan offers 1GB 2G/3G/4G data a day along with unlimited national calling, and free 100 local and national SMSs. The validity period is of 28 days. The plan compete against Vodafone's Rs 169 plan that offers unlimited calling, free roaming, 100SMS a day and 1GB data per day for 28 days. The plan also races against Jio's Rs 149 plan offers unlimited calling, 1.5GB high-speed 4G data daily, and 100SMS per day with a validity period of 28 days. The total data benefit is more with Jio than Airtel or Vodafone.
