India vs New Zealand Live Score, 3rd ODI: Taylor solid but Pandya double strike dents NZ

India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI Mount Maunganui: Brief Score - New Zealand 201/6 in 42 overs vs India. Hardik Pandya has struck a double in quick succession to dent New Zealand's attempt of whacking it in the last 10 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal had removed Tom Latham to break his 116-run stand with Ross Taylor and that opened the door for India once again. Taylor, however, is still out there in the middle and is carrying New Zealand's hopes.

Hardik Pandya strikes again
That was a gift from Mitchell Santner. Hardik Pandya had not bowled an out-of-the-world delivery, Santner played a poor shot and edged the ball to the keeper. New Zealand are now undoing the good work done by Taylor and Latham in the middle. New Zealand 198/6 in 41.3 overs vs India

Henry Nicholls falls to Hardik Pandya
And Hardik Pandya gets his first wicket in his first international match since September 2018. A slow bouncer from Pandya and Nicholls gets a thick glove on it, straight into the hands of Dinesh Karthik. New Zealand 191/5 in 39.3 overs vs India

Ross Taylor survives
A loud shout for LBW from India for Ross Taylor but the umpire doesn't move. As Taylor and Latham try to run, India even try for a run out. Dinesh Karthik is sure that it's LBW and India go for a review. Ball tracking goes with umpire's call on wickets and India retain the review but don't get the wicket. Also, it's not a run out. Sticky couple of minutes out there. New Zealand 124/3 in 29 overs vs India. Taylor 40*, Latham 30*

A sniff for Mohammad Shami
Oh! Mohammad Shami had a chance there. A difficult one but a sniff. Tom Latham chipped Shami's delivery back towards him and Shami tried to go for a catch. Shami was a running in the opposite direction and it wasn't easy but may be half a chance there. New Zealand 84/3 in 23 overs vs India. Taylor 19*, Latham 14*

Did Kohli and Chahal plan Williamson's wicket?
As soon as Yuzvendra Chahal saw the completed catch from Hardik Pandya, he turned around and pointed at Virat Kohli in a jubilant mood. This was a plan between the bowler and captain, was it?

Williamson falls
Hardik Pandya with a stunner in the field! Kane Williamson was looking frustrated but it was Pandya's fielding abilities that got him this time. Williamson attempted to flick the ball and Pandya takes a blinder. New Zealand 59/3 in 16.2 overs vs India

Williamson getting frustrated
Kane Williamson is beginning to get frustrated now. The current run rate is 3.69 and India are building pressure with dot balls. New Zealand are finding it hard to score freely. New Zealand 59/2 in 16 overs vs India. Williamson 28*, Taylor 11*

Hardik Pandya bowls first over since September

8 overs down and New Zealand are 29/2. Williamson and Ross Taylor are at the crease and New Zealand will need them to stick around. India on the other hand will want to get rid of these two quickly.

Bhuvneshwar gets Guptill
Martin Guptill departs! Another good start but Guptill did not stick out. He was trying to go at Bhuvneshwar, like he did in the seamer's previous over. Bhuvneshwar learnt from his last over and this time Guptill nicked it to the keeper. New Zealand are now already 2 wickets down and we have not even seen 7 overs yet. New Zealand 26/2 in 6.1 overs vs India

Good over for New Zealand
Martin Guptill was on song in that Bhuvneshwar Kumar over. A six and a four and he gets 11 runs off that over, put some good pressure on the Indian seamer and reaped benefits. New Zealand will need more of this. New Zealand 22/1 in 5 overs vs India

Munro falls to Shami
Colin Munro was trying to be super aggressive against quality bowling of Mohammad Shami and he survived once in that over when Dinesh Karthik dropped him. However, in the last ball of that second over, he edges the ball straight into the hands of Rohit Sharma and once again, New Zealand have lost their first wicket early. New Zealand 10/1 in 2 overs vs India

Munro with 1st boundary for New Zealand
Colin Munro gets the first boundary for New Zealand. Munro beautifully times that delivery from Mohammad Shami to hit it straight down the ground. Safe shot and solid result. New Zealand 8/0 in 1.3 overs vs India

Good start for New Zealand
New Zealand 4/0 in 1 over vs India. Guptill 2*, Munro 2*
Guptill and Munro have got off to a good start, specifically because their running between the wickets in the first over was solid and got them a few runs for a start.

NEW ZEALAND INNINGS UNDERWAY
Martin Guptill and Colin Munro are on the crease. Guptill faces Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the first ball of the match. New Zealand would want a good start to set things up.

PITCH REPORT
Here is what Sunil Gavaskar and Simon Doull said about the ground: The wind at the moment seems stronger than the other day. The boundary dimensions are the same. Some sprinkling of water, but it's still that dead grass. A very good batting surface. We can expect 300-plus total.

2 CHANGES FOR INDIA
2 changes for India in the third ODI. MS Dhoni has a sore hamstring which is why Dinesh Karthik gets a place in the playing XI. Hardik Pandya is back in the team replacing second-choice Vijay Shankar. Here is what Virat Kohli said at the toss.
"Same thing, we would've wanted to bat first. This pitch will get slower and slower but under the lights, we felt the ball came on better, we won't mind bowling first. We were quite satsified, still it's the middle overs, setting a target we would like to improve on. I personally would like to get the scoring rate up. In the last game, we could've got to 340. Couple of changes. MS has got a sore hamstring, so he misses out this game, Karthik comes back. Hardik comes in place of Vijay Shankar. He brings great balance to the team. He can give you 5-6 overs and also play the big shots as well. It's brilliant, especially if you look at our away performances. It's great to have two guys (Kuldeep and Chahal) who can pick wickets in the middle overs. They are one of the main reasons why we have played such consistent cricket."

NEW ZEALAND WIN TOSS
Kane Williamson won the toss after calling tail and opted to bat. India had won the toss in the second ODI on the same venue and had opted to bat and Williamson chooses to do the same. One change for New Zealand - Mitchell Santner is in the playing XI. Here is what Kane Williamson said at the toss.
"We are going to bat. Looks like a good surface, a used surface so hopefully we can make use of the first hour. One change for us. Santner comes in for CDG. The spin throughout the series has been effective. This pitch will also help the spinners I guess. There has been glimpses, we need to get some partnerships with the bat and need to step up. We do know that If we play our best cricket, we can beat anybody. It's important we execute our plans as best as we can."

The pitch is ready for the 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand in Mount Maunganui. India will look to win the series right here before Virat Kohli is rested for the last two matches. The conditions are nice and windy out there.

New Zealand looking to strike back
New Zealand will want to strike back at Virat Kohli's India after being outplayed in the first two ODIs. It did take time for Australia to come to terms with the spin of Kuldeep Yadav and New Zealand will aim for the same. After having faced Kuldeep and Yuzvendra Chahal for two ODIs, New Zealand will hope they can handle the two wrist-spinners better. 2-0 down in the 5-match series, New Zealand will believe this is the time to strike back.

HARDIK PANDYA IN FOCUS
Hardik Pandya is in New Zealand now. After being called back to India from Australia before the ODI series due to the Koffee with Karan controversy and the subsequent suspension, Hardik is ready to take the field again. During his absence, captain Virat Kohli has said it time and again that Hardik's presence gives balance to the Indian side and it will be interesting to see if Hardik is given a game right away. Watch him leave for New Zealand from Mumbai a couple of days ago.
